However, its significance is heightened this year, especially given the issues and controversies that arose during the just-concluded 2023 general elections.
The election season brought a lot of tension and division among Nigerians, with many expressing disappointment and frustration with the election process. This has led to a sense of hopelessness and despair among some citizens who feel that the country's democracy is under threat.
Easter, however, offers a glimmer of hope, reminding Nigerians that there is always a chance for renewal and transformation. It is a time to remember that Jesus Christ's death and resurrection brought new life and hope to the world, and that the same can happen for Nigeria.
