THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE EASTER SEASON TO NIGERIANS IN 2023

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF EASTER TO  NIGERIANS IN 2023

...A message from Emma Asie (Mr E on the Mic) of Political Heat on Alpha Radio 106.5Fm to Nigerians generally and Obidients in particular

Easter is a significant religious celebration for Nigerians, as it marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. It is a time for reflection, prayer, and renewal for Christians across the country. However, its significance is heightened this year, especially given the issues and controversies that arose during the just-concluded 2023 general elections.

The election season brought a lot of tension and division among Nigerians, with many expressing disappointment and frustration with the election process. This has led to a sense of hopelessness and despair among some citizens who feel that the country's democracy is under threat.
Easter, however, offers a glimmer of hope, reminding Nigerians that there is always a chance for renewal and transformation. It is a time to remember that Jesus Christ's death and resurrection brought new life and hope to the world, and that the same can happen for Nigeria.

During this Easter season, Nigerians are encouraged to embrace unity, love, and peace, and to work towards building a better country for all. This involves forgiveness, letting go of bitterness and divisions, and seeking common ground amidst diversity.

Above all, Easter offers the reminder that no matter how dark the times may seem, there is always the possibility of a new beginning through faith, hope, and love. As Nigerians celebrate Easter in their various religious communities, may they find strength and hope in the message of resurrection, and may it inspire them to work towards a better future for themselves and generations to come.
Happy Easter to all Nigerians and may the joys and lessons of the Easter season reflect in our lives now and always.
